Lesson Overview

People with disabilities make up the biggest minorities in the world, not to mention that even able-bodied people can and will become disabled at some point in life. Without proper infrastructure, people with disabilities will face several obstacles in daily life, and the society will lose their contributions. To ensure everyone is able to enjoy equal opportunities in all aspects of life, universal design is a solution. It considers the safety, ergonomic, independence, and usage continuity, allowing users of all bodies to equally access structures and services. Israel is working towards becoming an inclusive nation with universal design as a key mandate. Every action and service for the public must provide structures and adjustments required by the laws, to guarantee that all people can enjoy lives equally.
