Recognising the importance of facilitating the use of innovative tools, processes, and technologies in policymaking, the Policy Innovation Exchange (PIX) will be hosted by the Thailand Policy Lab (TPL), a collaborative initiative between the Office of the National Economic and Social Development Council of Thailand (NESDC) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) on November 24, 2021.
PIX seeks to facilitate a cross-border exchange of knowledge concerning innovative tools and processes which can be used in policymaking at local, regional, and national levels. Such tools will be presented by world-class speakers and the real implementers of the public policymaking and innovation realms. Our speakers include experts and practitioners from the Regional Innovation Centre (UNDP), Pulse Lab Indonesia, UNDP Global Centre for Technology, Innovation and Sustainable Development (Singapore), Good Lab Hong Kong, Observatory of Public Sector Innovation (OECD), and National Innovation Agency of Thailand (NIA).
Thailand Policy Lab aims to add veritable innovation to Thailand’s public policymaking for greater efficiency and effectiveness; one of our key enabling factors is our ability to engage, utilise, and facilitate collaborations between academics and policy planners in innovation. We do so, as we believe academia is one of the main institutions that can sow the seeds of true innovation among younger generations across the country through their curricula, through future policy planners, or through Thai government officials. The importance of doing so is clear as policy planners require innovation to deliver responsive and comprehensive policies at both the national and local level. To support this vitally important integration, TPL facilitates a sharing of pertinent knowledge on policy innovation that catalyses public policymaking transformations which, in turn, enrich not only the processes, but also the entire policy ecosystem. Thailand Policy Lab believes that events like PIX can create a community of highly competent innovators by bringing participants together to one platform.
Note: PIX will be held in English.
The registration deadline is November 23, 2021.
