Do you entertain this idea as an impossibility, or as extreme optimism? As opposed to that hard-to-believe notion, the path to development is actually achievable, considering the fast-changing world and the active civil society. Development and equality is a dream that can definitely be actualized.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The key and prime accelerator to achieve that is \u2018policy making.\u2019 Governmental agencies and private companies invest all their energy and resources to come up with effective policies for a better society. However, the fact of the matter in Thailand is that policies are not fully people-centric.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>As a result, the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) began a veritable collaboration with the Office of the National Economics and Social Development Council and founded the Thailand Policy Lab. The lab aims to create concrete changes to adjust people\u2019s perception towards policy-making, and most importantly to involve the people themselves as part of the policy-making process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>What can the Thailand Policy Lab do? What is our stance? The answer is that we aim to merge innovation into policy-making, for the policies to be swift, universal, while directly responding to the people\u2019s needs, especially now when Thai society truly wants change. Above and beyond that, by utilizing the expertise of the Office of the National Economics and Social Development Council that has direct authority in Thailand\u2019s policy landscape, and by cooperating with the UNDP that has connections with experts&nbsp; all around the world, the policy lab will be able to change Thailand\u2019s policy-making culture so as to make it more accessible and sustainable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Policy-making is of the utmost importance, affecting millions of lives.
